3 DAYS SAFARI TO MERU NATIONAL PARK

Safari Day 01: Nairobi – Meru National park.

Pick up on arrival from the airport or from your hotel at 07:00am and drive to Meru national park to start your 3 Days Meru National Park Safari. Lunch enroute followed by afternoon game drive. Major attractions are; Former home of Joy and George Adamson and Elsa the lioness, Views of Mt Kenya, Rivers and riverine habitats, Tana river, Adamson’s falls.

Dinner and overnight at the Leopard Rock Hotel or Ikweta Safari Camp

Activities include; Exploring the park on foot, guided nature walks, bush breakfasts on the plains, line fishing, sundowners at the hippo pools, swimming in the horizontal pool cleft in the rocks.

Safari Day 02: Meru National Park Safari

Morning and afternoon game drives on this second  day of your 3 Days Meru National Park Safari. Main wildlife in this park are; Grevy Zebra, African Elephants, Lion,Leopard,Hyena,Eland, Bush Pig, Common Waterbuck, Cheetah, Leopard, Reticulated Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Bohor Reedbuck, Hartebeest,,Gerenuk, reticulated Beisa,Python, Puff Udder, Cobra, Buffalo, more than 300 recorded species of birds. Also, more than 300 recorded species in this park.

Meru National Park is a commonly accepted area as the setting where Elsa, Joy Adamson’s lioness, was returned to the wild. Meru provides an astonishing combination of incomparable habitats. On the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya, it remains a virgin wilderness. Dense riverine forests attract Leopards and a full complement of ‘the big five’ including Black Rhino, in a dramatic setting adorned with doum palms. Over 300 species of birdlife have also been recorded.

Main vegetation found is; mainly thorny bush land in the North, wooded grasslands in the West and open grassland elsewhere. The park also offers dense riverine forests of Doum and Raffia palm.

All meals and overnight at the Leopard Rock Lodge  or Ikweta Safari Camp .
