The Tides Lodge – Tanzania’s best kept secret is a barefoot-chic secluded beach hotel set on , palm fringed Ushongo Beach on the mainland coast of Tanzania. Revel in a sense of peace and exclusivity, undiscovered by crowds. At this relaxed, homely Lodge, guests experience a warm welcome from the team, many of whom herald from local communities.
The Tides Lodge is a remote, low-key beach resort situated on Ushongo Beach, some 10km south of Pangani on Tanzania’s unspoilt northern coastline. Ushongo has been rated one of the Top Secret Beaches of the World by the Sunday Times travel magazine, and the Tides was the first and, to this day, the best lodge to open in the area.
The Tides Lodge is set on the idyllic, palm fringed and secluded Ushongo beach on the northern coastline of Tanzania near Pangani. The beach is deserted with no crowds and no troublesome beach hustlers, giving the guests the feeling of tranquillity and exclusivity.
Guests can walk for miles each way from the lodge along the deserted beach passing only the occasional friendly local fisherman. Just offshore is the Maziwe Marine reserve with the magical Maziwe island, a sandbank that only emerges at low tide and which is one of the most amazing snorkelling and diving spots in Tanzania.
Accommodation and Meals
